On th Road again

Another day Another shoot for NBC.  I have been so busy recently the days just seem to run together. Yesterday we were down at the University of FL covering graduation. It wasn’t a difficult day but what surprised me is that there wasn’t the excitement in the air when I graduated from college and the overall casual dress of most of the graduates. Of course me and the camera man had to wear graduation robes to blend in. There is nothing I love more than wearing a polyester robe in a over crowded old theater. But as days go it was normal 8 hours of driving and shooting.  My friends and family are always surprised at the hours we work and what we do but as I tell people we are “Living the Dream” and that is ok with me

Using more Rechargeable batteries

As I have posted before I have been using I-power 9v for about a year with great results well I just invested in some rechargeable AA as well. I only use a few things that take AA batteries these items include G2 wireless and Timecode Slates but in a effort to be more green I invest $100.07 in one charger and 16 batteries. I bought the Maha MH-C801D eight cell charger. and 2 eight packs of Duracell NiMH 2650mAh batteries per Phil Palmer suggestion. I bought these from Thomas Distribution a great online retailer. I will let everyone know how I find them to be

Working on a Live broadcast

Most of the year I do reality tv or a live sit down news interviews. But a few times a year I work for CBS sports doing some golf work. In the mornings I do ENG audio for interviews then when we go on air I become a A2 and do some mic pointing. Doing the mic pointing isn’t something I would enjoy doing everyday but it is a nice change of pace and nothing beats being on a golf course when the weather is nice, but walking 18 plus holes a few days in a row is difficult and dealing with the golfers can be difficult sometimes as well. But overall I love doing it and it is always nice to have a new challenge.
