For many years Rycote has been considered the gold standard for wind protection for microphones. From affordable slip on protection to higher end blimps. My one main criticism was lack of something in the middle or easier to transport when on fast pace jobs. Bubble Bee has a great solution called the spacer system it is a slip on wind protection system along with a higher wind cover you can pull over. It is very well built and cost effective. While I have not tested it along side my Rycote blimp I know it affords more wind protection then a Rycote slip on windscreen with a easier ability to pack.
