It is a great audio bag it allows us to house the 664 3 Lectrosonics SRA receivers and all other things we need to operate for a full day. To better serve our clients we have added the Sound Devices 664 to our equipment inventory this mixer and recorder will allow us a lighter weight and more compact unit for ENG bag based work. To better serve our clients we have changed over to Lectrosonics SR Camera links. With a smaller form factor and integrated L mount battery sled that will better work with all the small format camera now very common in our industry. While we never had a issue with our Zaxcom systems being all Lectrosonics allows for more flexibility.
Picking the right Lav Mic for the right situation
I often am asked how I choose which Lav mic I am going to use in a situation since I have Sanken Cos-11 and Countryman B6.
The Sanken is my first choice for almost all situations it is easy to hide and I think provide the best match to my Primary boom mics which are MKH 50 and the Scheops Cmit 5U. It is durable and very easy to wind proof.
The Countryman B6 is best suited for hard to hide in wardrobe, wet situations and if we are doing many wardrobe changes like on a crime reenactment show that might have 6-8 changes a day. The B6 doesn’t sound as full as the Sanken but sometimes it is the best choice.
2012 Off to a great start
2012 has been a great year for so far with many additions of new equipment we now can offer up to 12 channels of Lectrosonics wireless with antenna distribution on our new sound cart. We have also been very busy providing sound services to RBC Bank, The PGA Tour, Kraft Foods, PBS just to name a a few. We look forward to a great rest of the year with old and new clients
